The DNS Farm Soil Brewing Kit is designed to help you grow and deliver living soil biology safely and effectively.  Works to keep microbes active, oxygen-loving, and ready to support plant roots and soil structure.

EXTRACT VS TEA

A compost extract gently washes existing microbes from compost into water without growing them. It’s quick, low risk, and ideal for gentle soil inoculation. A compost tea uses aeration and food to multiply beneficial microbes. It’s used to actively boost soil biology.

In short: Extract introduces biology. Tea increases biology.

COMPOST EXTRACT RECIPE

Set pump above bucket

Fill 5-gallon bucket 3/4 full with warm water. If using city water with chlorine. add  ½ tsp. humic acid or let water sit for a couple of days..

Put up to a litre of Worm Castings into the mesh bag.

Place mesh bag in hole of bucket lid.

Turn pump on and place into water.

Set pump so water looks like its boiling but not splashing all over.

Brew for 30 minutes. Remove aerator before turning the pump off.

Apply extract where needed and reuse castings in soil or add to compost.

Thoroughly clean equipment after used.

Use within a couple of days

COMPOST TEA RECIPE

To make Tea follow extract recipe with the following changes:

• In Step 1 - Add microbe food

for bacteria boost 1-2 tbsp unsulfured molasses or liquid fish hydrolysate and

for fungal boost 1-tsp humic acid, kelp meal or oat flour

• In Step 4 - Brew for 24-48 hours

Tips:

Store castings cool, moist, and out of direct sun before use.

Do not let castings dry out.
